Welcome to 1/2A everyone, we hope you have had a fun-filled Summer. We are going to have a spectacular year growing and learning together! Mrs.Knapton and I will be teaching you this year, and we are super excited to getting to know you all. Let’s make it a year to remember.
Our first history topic is the Great Fire of London. We will have a blazing time understanding the significant events that took place and even creating our own burning houses. We will step into the role of Samuel Pepys and write about the unfolding devastation.
In geography, we will be getting familiar with our local area and discovering the many delights of where we live. We will become explorers, who can navigate using maps and identify lots of human and physical features.
‘The Day War Came’ will be our English novel as we return to school, teaching us about empathy and resilience. The book has such powerful themes which will allow us to step into the shoes of someone else and discover the many thoughts and feelings of the characters.
