The autumn term was a time of big change for 3C: a new year, a new classroom, new faces and a new part of school. They are really showing their resilience and making the classroom a really fun and lively environment to be in. It has been wonderful to see as a new teacher in Castle Hills Academy. The children have welcomed me and I can’t wait to see where the New Year will take us!
Entering Spring term in year 3 will bring its own challenges that I’m certain the class will take in their stride as we seek to foster our independence in preparation for our journey through the beginning of Key Stage 2. New skills such as non-fiction writing and journalism in Writing and Fractions and measurements in Maths will doubtless help us along our way.
Mary must depend upon her unique courage and knowledge to fulfil her dream of becoming a scientist in a time when girls have no opportunities for such ambitions. What will happen when she makes her greatest discovery of all…?
This term we will be exploring the dawn of civilisation through the extremely exciting History and Art topics of Ancient Egypt!
Rhodopis is a slave whose beautiful rose- red slipper is stolen by a red falcon. By chance her slipper ends up in the hands of the Pharoah, who sets out to find its owner.
We’ll be learning about some of the oldest objects that make up our planet in our Science focus on rocks and fossils. We will have the opportunity to learn about Chinese music, the global religion of Islam and how people create different settlements around the globe, expanding our minds through learning about other cultures.
Rounding this out with electrical systems in DT, Gymnastics and fitness in PE and dreams and goals in PSHE will make for a jam-packed and exciting term! Needless to say, this is going to be a blast!
See you all safe and sound in the New Year!
